Credit Card
Do the right thing!
No, we aren't talking about another hip Spike Lee joint. We are talking about that disaster you call a financial future. Haven't you learned by now that a credit card can either make you or break you? Well, at the expense of sounding like your mother and father, we want to take you under our collective wing and teach you some basics. Some fundamentals, if you will. While they may not be the most ground-breaking tips, these tips are sure to make your credit card work for you rather than against you.
Live within your means
This just might be one of the most important guidelines for anyone and everyone. There are simply too many people that think a credit card is free money. Too many consumers are living well beyond their means and charging up a storm. Don't you know how that can damage you later. We recommend that you use the credit card in case of emergencies and charge things you know you can afford.
Don't just pay minimums
Which brings us to our next point. If you can't afford a certain item, don't purchase it. Otherwise, you will find yourself paying interest on an item you can't afford for far too long. When you receive your credit card statement every month, you should really try to pay more than the required minimum. Paying minimums is a surefire way to find yourself on the road to ruin. Avert credit card debt before it's too late.
Be smart about your card
We know it sounds like common sense, but you'd be surprised how many people find themselves lacking common sense when they enter a mall with their credit cards. Be a smart shopper. Always look for a bargain and benefits. And remember, with our tips, and with other tips on this site, you too can rebuild your credit and fight off those credit card debts.
